Significant Gap in Clinton’s Benghazi Emails Emerge – Clinton May Have a Lot of ‘Splaining to Do

In words immortalized by the 1950s actor Desi Arnez of the show “I Love Lucy”, Hillary Clinton, the Democrat Party’s presumptive nominee, may have a lot of ‘splaining to do. This is because she supposedly turned over her email correspondences during the September 11, 2012 Benghazi attacks to the State Department. In turn, the department handed those emails over to the House Subcommittee on Benghazi chaired by Republican congressman Trey Gowdy. At the time Clinton turned over the emails to the State Department, she affirmed her actions were indicative of the type of transparency that is characteristic of her.

Many of her emails were with a former political operative of Bill Clinton’s called Sydney Blumenthal stated Interview Magazine. By the time the State Department turned over emails to the House subcommittee, there total number of pages stood at 350. Now, Blumenthal has turned over his own email cache to the State Department totaling 180 pages. As per Fox News, there is a “significant gap” between what the House subcommittee was given. The question remains who is responsible for the gap. It isn’t clear if the State Department withheld the emails to the House subcommittee or if Mrs. Clinton intentionally withheld them from the State Department. If it turns out to be the latter, the incident will further cement the public perception that Mrs. Clinton cannot be trusted. Her negative ratings have been steadily increasing. Earlier this month, they stood at their highest level in 14 years.
